All of us have hopes, dreams and goals for our children and grandchildren; be a good person, be successful, do well in school, make and have friends. As they get older those goals grow more specific; get into a certain college, choose a career, be a success in athletics. All worthy and valuable goals; but what about spiritual goals? Most people never think about it in those terms and we can see the results in our culture and those young adults leaving the church. The Apostle Paul lays out his heart and motives to the Thessalonians church in our passage for today and by doing so, gives us some great insight into the importance of setting spiritual goals and having a spiritual plan for our children and grandchildren if we hope to pass on a legacy that will last. From 1st Thessalonians 2:6-12.
