In Colossians 1:26-27 the Apostle Paul mentions something that was a mystery in the Old Testament that has been revealed to those who are now Christians. In using this type of language, he rebukes the gnostic false teachers who were pushing the idea that a relationship with Jesus was not enough for salvation but rather you also needed to have a "special knowledge", or "secret knowledge" revealed to you. Sadly, the spirit of this Gnosticism is still alive in the church today as some in the church clamor and are drawn to anything promising to reveal a "secret". Paul explains what the real and only "secret" of the New Testament is and how it effects all believers and in turn shows how the truth of this "secret" should motivate all Christians to service in the church.  From Colossians 1:25-29.
