What does Jude mean when he calls Christians to contend for the faith when facing false teachers and false teaching? More importantly, what does he not mean? In this message we examine some practical aspects of standing up for the faith by learning how to "Test the Spirits" when it comes to teachings and events that might not seem within the bounds of our experience or knowledge. How can we know if something is actually "false" and something we need to stand against or just "different" than what we have ever experienced? Just because it is outside of our experience doesn't mean that it is false. By using two very recent events (the "He Gets Us" commercial series and the recent spiritual experiences taking place at Asbury college and Seminary) that are all the buzz in Christian social media circles, we use some Biblical tools to examine them and our response to them. From Jude 3-4, Mark 9:33-41, 1st John 3:1-3, 1st Thessalonians 5:19-20.
