"The Death of Comfortable Christianity"
Show Notes

This message takes a look at the current culture and spiritual atmosphere in the United States and looks forward to what Christians and the church might expect moving ahead. Will the current compartmentalized, compromised, cultural and comfortable  Christianity that is so prevalent in America today flourish or flounder when faced with opposition or even persecution? Was Christianity ever meant to be "comfortable" in the first place? We examine the Apostle Paul and the early churches example as well as the words of Jesus concerning what it might actually look like to live out his call to "Love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself". In a day where so many want to redefine Christianity into some type of self-help religious parachute - Jesus' words  warn that we had better count the cost because to truly follow him will cost everything.  When we look around our nation today, it is easy for Christ followers to  be discouraged, but have no fear, the church is right where God wants her to be - the real question is will Christians repent and submit to the power of the Holy Spirit and get out of the way to allow Him to Shine? From Luke 14:25-35.
